Join our next webinar – 28 July 2026

Vanessa Elliott AM, shares her one and done story of preeclampsia in remote australia and her life long commitment to maternal health community education so mums and bubs have the best beginning.
Vanessa is the Managing Director of Yura Ngaba, and board director of Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (strategic investment vehicle by commonwealth), east metro health service (7 hospitals in Perth), K. Farmer Foundation (a provenance and sandalwood First Nations Charity) and Chairs PLACE Australia (a Commonwealth and Philanthropic funded charity to increase local decision making).
27 years ago Vanessa was a medical receptionist and journalist who in a day was diagnosed and sent more than 3,000km away to protect her baby and come to terms with the gravity of facing fear, delay and dissonance.
Silenced by her own story, it’s time to spotlight how vulnerable a woman is when carrying a child in remote Australia; and the life long impacts of that silent struggle.
