Camilla Hirsch

AAPEC Secretary

Camilla is a final year medical student at UNSW in Sydney, who joined the AAPEC team at the conclusion of 2022 as a shared Secretary and Social Media Advisor. Camilla was introduced to AAPEC whilst conducting her Honours in 2022 at St George Hospital’s Obstetric Medicine Research Group with President Dr Lynne Roberts, Medical Advisor A/Prof Amanda Henry and Midwifery Advisor Dr Heike Roth.

Camilla has always had an interest in women’s health and pregnancy. Her interest in preeclampsia was sparked by her time working with women postpartum who had lived experiences of preeclampsia, as part of the Blood Pressure Postpartum (BP2) Study. Her research detailed the physical activity and nutrition of women 6-months following a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy. She found conducting this research incredibly interesting, and is excited to continue on in this field despite moving back to clinical placements for the final two years of her degree.

Camilla is honoured to be a part of the 2023-2024 AAPEC team, and is looking forward to further promoting this important cause.
